Below are the row counts and the sizes of the tables that this query touches. The most expensive operator is an index scan of a non-clustered index in the data collection table that makes sense given the size of the table compared to the others. I understand why / how the memory allocation is required, which I think is due to how the query is written that requires multiple classifications and hash operators. What I need advice / guidance is how to avoid memory concessions, T-SQL and the re-factoring code is not my strong point, is there any way to rewrite this query to make it more effective? If I can adjust the query to run faster in isolation, I hope that the benefits are transferred to when running at scale, which is when the performance begins to suffer.
