Python 3.9.0 crashing

When I create a new .py on python file 3.9.0 via IDLE and then try to save it as .py, the whole program just freezes and has to be forse quit. Any suggestions why this may be happening? Im using macOS Catalina latest version.

Many Thanks

mint class – mintclass crashing (asking me to log back in), with this workflow

If I follow the following procedure, then mint class logs me out. I used this one time before, and it is very useful. However this week it is not working.
It seems to be working on my desktop, but not on work iPad. I have tried selecting request-desktop-site, but this makes no difference, with this problem.

  • Choose a class
  • Show seating plan
  • Choose a student, anyone
  • Select points
  • Select advanced reporting
  • Select student (at this point I am asked to login again, and when I do it has lost track of where I am)
  • Select «year»
  • Select «tutor group»

mysql – mysqld crashing almost every hour – mysqld invoked oom-killer

I am running wordpress on a centOS digital ocean droplet

my mysql keeps crashing almost every hour — with an out of memory error

manually restarting mysqld brings it back up via sudo service mysqld restart

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

here are my configurations and logs around the time of the crash:

/etc/my.cnf

(mysqld)

MySql crashing for no apparent reason

We have a relatively busy site with ca. 30.000 connections per day. Things run fine, except that 1 or 2 times per day the MySql server crashes for no apparent reason and then restarts automatically. In the error logfile we see that it says that some tables are marked as crashed, but actually they have not, they are all still fine and usable. In the logfile I have added here, it can be seen that we have twice a strange ‘Got timeout reading communication packets’ from suspicious sources, but they are 5 hours, respectively about 1 hour before the actual crash happens at 06:25.10. The last message with a crashed table is seen 28 minutes before the crash happens, so its probably not related? Could it be that one of the 2 warnings that can be seen is triggering the crash?

fonts – Installation of GIMP crashing on startup

My install of GIMP is suddenly crashing on startup.

The launcher window opens and runs through it’s setup process, but the font is all messed up (see screenshot).

enter image description here

The same boxes show on the main GIMP window, which opens for a second, then closes.

I installed GIMP via snap, and when I try to open it via the terminal the following error is outputted:

The only thing I can think of that I did recently that could have messed with my installation is I installed Google Fonts locally via this script, but other programs like Inkscape and OBS Studio are loading in the fonts without crashing no problem.

Anyone got any ideas?

high sierra – After Disk Utility crashing while adding a new partition, main APFS container (macOS + user data) became unbootable

I’m running macOS High Sierra on early-2015 Macbook Pro.

I used to have two more partitions: one with Bootcamp, and the other one as a shared FAT32 folder.

As far as I remember, at some point I made the mistake of using something other than Disk Utility to manage my partitions. I messed up GUIDs but I fixed them manually later, and deleted the bootcamp drive.

I tried formatting the FAT32 drive as APFS and Disk Utility crashed and I ended up with the small “VM”-named drive (I named it that way, and it was intended to be around 25GB). While I was running with no problems afterwards, after a reboot my main APFS drive (Macintosh HD, 387GB) no longer boots. (and does not show up on the boot menu) and shows up as unformatted on all disk tools I could test. (doesn’t show up on DiskUtil at all). I have tried changing the GUID but it still doesn’t boot.

I currently don’t have a Linux stick, but I’ll create one if you need more info. (and if the solution requires one)

PS: I’m very sorry for the image quality and size, but I don’t have my computer at hand to fix them.

I had a Centos6 server and everything was fine, after moving to a new server with centos7 my mysql has started to crash randomly … the error log is empty!

macos – What does this error mean? (2019 MacBook Pro, randomly crashing all of a sudden)

I’ve had my 13 inch 2019 MacBook Pro for almost a year now. Over the 3 weeks or so, it has begun randomly restarting or crashing every once and a while. I haven’t changed my usage habits, or downloaded any new programs, however, I did recently start using my external hard drive again so I can have daily Time Machine backups. (I had bought it in January and used it at my office daily, but then didn’t have access to it for 3 months due to COVID restrictions.) It seems unlikely to me that that could be the cause, as I bought the hard drive from Target and it doesn’t seem suspicious.

Over the last 3 weeks or so, occasionally when I am working the screen will just go black, and the haptic feedback from 3D touch will stop, as if it ran out of battery, but it didn’t. Then, when I start it back up, I will get a Problem Report for macOS popup that says my computer restarted because of a problem. At first I assumed this was possibly related to the fact that I hadn’t updated my macOS in far too long, so I updated to Catalina, but the issue keeps happening.

I am including the error report here in the hopes someone smarter than me can help me figure out what’s wrong and how to fix it. Thank you so much for your help in advance:

apt – System Instability/programs crashing after leaving computer suspended for a few days

I have been experiencing an issue in Ubuntu, both 19.10 and 20.04 where if I suspend my machine instead of shut it down after about the 3rd time or 2-3 days of doing so the system becomes very unstable which presents itself if a lot of processes crashing eg:

  • Firefox tabs/whole browser consistently crash
  • JVM compiler crashes
  • Apt get gives segmentation fault 11
  • Chrome just does not open anymore

The crashes persist between restarting the application and sometimes after 4+ restarts it is stable for a few minutes before crashing again. Certain applications like Spotify, pulse effects, gnome itself and todo do not crash at all and can continue to be used without a problem
I have no idea why this is happening but after nearly 6 months it is starting to get very frustrating and would like some help diagnosing/fixing this issue. The current work around I have is doing a system restart which solves the problem entirely but I would rather just be able to suspend and pick up where I left off. Everything about the system appears to be normal except I believe a gnome extension/application is stopping the lock screen from engaging as window+L, lock screen in general just flickers the screen and then comes back to the desktop.

My hardware:

  • Ryzen 5 3600
  • 32GB 3200Mhz Ram
  • Gigabyte X570 ITX Mobo
  • GTX 1160
  • 2x 1Tb Nvme Drives (1 for ubuntu, 1 for windows)
  • Kernel: 5.4.0-40-generic
  • Gnome: 3.36.2
  • Ubuntu: 20.04

Sound keeps crashing – Ask Ubuntu

Sound works directly after I boot, but crashes at some point, maybe a few hours later. I’ve tried restarting the sound system with pulseaudio -k && sudo alsa force-reload which didn’t help.

This is a problem that started only recently. Sound used to work fine.

Im on Ubuntu 18.04
