htaccess – What is the best way to create default page when access to a protected directory is Cancelled through onclick?

I have a protected directory on an hosted IONOS server. It correctly works when the correct credentials are entered, but when a user hits cancel, it redirects that user to the hosting provider’s promo default page.

eg. https://initiostar.co.uk/ticker/OmniTicker.7z

eg current htaccess

AuthUserFile /path/to/the/password/file/.htpasswd
AuthType Basic
AuthName "Protected Page"

<Files "index.php">
Require valid-user
</Files>

If the user hits cancel you are redirected to the host’s default page. Tried adding a default, but I doubt this is the way to it.

DefaultIndex [filename]

Preferred outcome: popup box opens in a small window on the web page and where cancel is executed, it closes the popup and stays on the same page.

For anyone working with Apache I assume this is standard stuff, but not for me.

air travel – EU261, cancelled connection and predating duty of care

Unfortunately you are almost certainly due nothing.

Under normal circumstances, you would be due an amount of between 250 and 600 Euro under the “compensation” section of EU261, however the airline will almost certainly claim that the cancellation was caused by “extraordinary circumstances”, which absolves them of paying compensation.

“Extraordinary circumstances” does NOT absolve them of the “right to care” provisions of the legislation. That section states :

Right to care

1. Where reference is made to this Article, passengers shall be offered free of charge:
(a) meals and refreshments in a reasonable relation to the waiting time;
(b) hotel accommodation in cases
- where a stay of one or more nights becomes necessary, or
- where a stay additional to that intended by the passenger becomes necessary;

The problem in this circumstances is that no “stay” is necessary. If you agree to the earlier flight, then you will arrive at your destination (as far as BA is concerned) 1 day earlier than planned. It is not BA’s concern that you have a connecting flight the (now) following day – once they have delivered you to your destination (LHR) their commitment is completed.

If you had purchased the two tickets as a single itinerary, then you WOULD be due a hotel in London, as in this case the commitment of British Airlines would be to get you to your final destination, not just to London (this would be the case regardless of which airline the 2nd flight was book on, as long as the flights had been booked as a single ticket/PNR).

Despite no hotel or other compensation being due it would not hurt to at least ask for one. It is certainly possible that BA will provide you something as a customer service gesture, even though it’s not required by EU261.

(And before someone points it out, although the UK is no longer a member of the EU, part of the legislation around them exiting means that the legislation behind EU261 is still in effect and enforceable in the UK for a period of time)

switzerland – MEA cancelled flight due to corona

Yes, they could argue that COVID-19 is a exceptional circumstance. Nevertheless, you are still entitled to a refund but not necessarily to compensation.

MEA’s cancellation section says:

If your flight, for which you hold a valid reservation, is cancelled, you are entitled to re-routing, care, refund and compensation as laid out here above. You are not entitled to receive a compensation if the cancellation is attributed to extraordinary circumstances which could not have been avoided, even if all reasonable measures had been taken. Examples include bad weather conditions, political instability, strikes, security, risks, unexpected flight safety shortcomings.

I would say to give it a bit of time, since they probably have manu refund requests. Then, you can demand for a refund and try to argue for compensation, but compensation is highly unlikely.

What happened to the yongnuo yn450 camera? It was cancelled?

I came across this article https://www.cinema5d.com/yongnuo-yn450-m43-mirrorless-camera-with-android/ last year about yongnuo announcing a mirrorless camera in CP + 2019. The YN450 was supposed to have An m43 sensor, EF mount and run Android.

This was supposed to begin shipping in April 2019.

I can find many English-speaking articles from mid-2019 on this, but it is not available for sale anywhere.

Does anyone know what happened to him? Was it cannulated?

The few articles I could find about the last months in which I could not read all languages.
