Problem when backing up my iPhone on my Mac, the iPhone icon does not appear in iTunes

First try a soft reboot on the iPhone.

Restart your iPhone 8 or earlier or iPod touch

  1. Press and hold the top (or side) button until the power off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to completely turn off your device. *
  3. After your device turns off, press and hold the Top (or Side) button again until you see the Apple logo.

* With iOS 11 or later, you can turn off your device by going to Settings> General> Shut Down.

Source: restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

Note that restarting the computer may also be necessary if the software reset does not solve the problem.

If a software restart and restart of the computer do not solve it, you may have to perform a full reboot on the device. If so, take a look at: How to erase your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

What business applications are recommended routinely backing up?

Many business applications in the cloud such as Shopify, Zendesk, etc. they do not provide backup and restore capabilities. Then, if the provider's application is not available in a disaster scenario, or simply if you or a member of your team makes mistakes with the data, there is often no option to obtain your data or reverse it unless you have made a copy of manual security.

Some people have suggested to me that, depending on the operations of your business, it is often a good practice to manually back up all the applications that are important to you, although I can not imagine that many have the discipline to do it in practice. . I wonder then, does your team back up your application data in the cloud? If so, what applications do you take the time to make a backup? Shopify, Quickbooks, HubSpot, etc?

Backing up the Bluehost site … | Web Hosting Talk

With luck I'm in the right place. Have a Bluehost account with a simple wordpress website and some email (and any database that needs wordpress). In the past it had a different control panel, and in it there was a backup and restore utility. He backed up everything on Bluehost and copied the file to the local computer. Simple.

I recently had a different control panel (I hung the previous one for as long as possible, but …) and the "old" backup / restore disappeared and was replaced by Site Backup Pro. I entered Site Backup Pro and tried to find out HOW to use the "Backup and restore the site" because I do not need or want the "Pro" version that charge a monthly fee for … It says:

"As a courtesy, we periodically generate backup copies of your hosting files and databases, usually on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.Your most recent backup files are available below, but they will not do you any good here. These make backups on your home computer regularly, especially before changing or updating your site, so that it is prepared in the event of a disaster.

(I was going to put a clipping of the page here, but I have not found a way to insert an image)

So they make backup copies. All I have to do is DOWNLOAD the backup copy on my home computer … I'm curious WHY the daily, weekly and monthly backups would be done unless only the monthly is completed and the rest are incremental or something A) Yes?

So, I called … I rarely call, and in the past, the service in general has been reasonably good. Today is not like that. It sounded like a party in the background, I can not understand English with a lot of accent and he can not hear me. He never got an answer, and after the third time he was put on hold for him to look for something, no one came back. He just died.

Called again. This time, after a while, trying to listen during the party and having your person understand my question, they said "Yes, I can send mail to our people from Level 2." They have the backup copies and "I can make one. available "HUH? How does that fit with" Download these backups to your home computer regularly "?

On that same page there is a section at the bottom that says:

Website files
Your public_html directory
Browse – Download – Restore

Home Directory
Your home directory
Browse – Download

Email messages
Restore your email messages from a backup or system load

MySQL databases and tables
Browse – Download

I guess my home directory INCLUDES the public_html directory AND the email folders because there is not a "backup" in the emails, just a restore.
Therefore, I selected Home Directory and navigated.
I was able to see a list of folders and files. I selected them all, I clicked on "Download ZIP" and they told me it was "Preparing the download" and after a couple of seconds it was flipped on a screen that showed "Backup and basic restoration" with a button that said "Copy of security and restoration "and" Backup and Restore Pro "with an attempt to increase the monthly load. (Again, I put it in a clipping, but I do not see a way to insert an image online).
Press the button that says "Backup and restore" in the Basic, and you went back to the page that you just left …

Clearly, I have no idea what I'm doing …

If Bluehost HAS backups that do daily / weekly / monthly everything on my site, how should I follow their instructions to download them regularly?
If NO, HOW do I backup everything to download it?

Backing things | Web Hosting Talk

I was hoping that someone here could help with a plan to back things up.

I have 5 virtual machines, 3 cPanel reseller accounts and a dedicated centos server with insane storage. The cPanel accounts do not worry me. I can download that to dedicated or virtual machines. But this is what I want:

Instant restoration of VMS with OS, configurations and everything. I prefer to be able to restore them to any other provider also in case my provider withdraws for any reason.

The same with the dedicated picture. I want to be able to click on a few buttons and make it reappear exactly as it was before what happened to it.

Any ideas?

Hard Drive – Time Machine is backing up itself?

I have a 13-inch MacBook Pro 2017, 2 USB-C ports, MacOS 10.13.6, with approximately 90 GB of content, 120 GB of total HD. You get your first backup in a pristine unit, recently reformatted, external 500 GB, through USB. The unit is connected through a USB to USB-C connector (in case this could be a problem).

The backup starts well, then passes the 90 GB and continues to increase until it "runs out of space". I made a small clip of the window that shows this process that I can not show here, but here is the screen in the first box: "Backup of 325.82 GB of 358.40 GB" and in the last one: "Backup of 326.00 GB of 358.60 GB ". I can see, looking at the screen, since both numbers keep going up and up.

There is nothing else connected to the computer.

What's going on? It seems that the backup goes into an infinite loop.
