We have been Servint's happy customers for more than 5 years, their support was always in minutes / hours. Anyway, Servease was recently acquired by Leaseweb and all the signs of a decent service went down the drain, I have no words for what they are doing at the moment.
Basically we receive an email that in the next 24-48 h will take place the migration of the service and that will be communicated shortly to coordinate the moment of the migration and others. Look on Wednesday at 2 o'clock in the afternoon when they log in to the server and first they restart it several times, then stop several services (like mysql), I receive a call from my co-worker about the clients that report problems when accessing our service , so I quickly start session through SSH and that the load is quite high, so I review the main processes, etc., and I see that the upper process is called something like "copy / synchronize", all without prior notice. So we are experiencing a downtime and a general confusion when attending to thousands of clients (daily) and immediately I open a ticket with critical priority, not even 10 minutes later our server is disconnected, I pick up the phone and I call them just so that let me know Is my migration almost complete and all they need from us is a confirmation to migrate the IP addresses and is it DONE? WTF? You should not force me to migrate by phone instead of apologizing for agonizing us and our customers with that attitude and service. I expected to be able to schedule the migration for the weekend (Saturday / Sunday), since that also gives us time to configure the new server (rebuild Apache, install diamand, configure the mod_sec rules, configure the firewall, etc., etc.) I WON I will, although we have a high level managed service supplement that costs $ 100 / month (yes, that's enough money in 5 years + time) … they have not yet answered my ticket, in QUEUE for 6 days … No apologies, nothing … We currently pay $ 640 per month for a managed dedicated server and approximately $ 40 for an entry-level VPS.
I've been reviewing several websites for reviews and what not, but I really can not find anything suitable.
What we would like:
– server location preferably in Dallas (although location in the US is mandatory)
– dual processor xeon of the Intel® Xeon® processor family E5 v4
– 32-64GB of RAM
– Enterprise SSD of 4x500GB (raid10) or better
– Night backups
– 4 IP's
– Decent SLA agreement (we can not afford to wait 2 days for hardware replacement, it should be within 2 hours)
Budget cca. $ 600 / month
Waiting for any pointers / offers!
