Questions about the compression of textures.

Then, when I choose the texture in the Inspector window I see three tabs: Default, Standalones and Android. I can choose some variants of how to compress this texture, but:

  • My texture is a PNG (then it is RGBA). When I click on Default-> Format I can see things like Alpha 8, R 8, RGB 24 little bit. So if I choose R8, for example, does that mean that my GBA Will the channels be thrown?
  • Which is the Maximum size? My texture is 600×375 If I choose 512 Will you cut my texture to 512×375 or what? And because it's called Max Size if I'm working with a single texture at the moment?
  • If I choose Default-> Format a Automatic Y Does not make any cancellation on any specific platform Will Unity choose the default texture compression formats for a specific platform using this table?
