networks – Ubuntu 18.04 – All network adapters disappeared after closing VPN

I have Ubuntu 18.04 installed. The wired and wireless connections of my laptop worked. But lately I was using a USB adapter with external antenna to have a better signal (using an RTL8812AU controller).
Also many times I was using a VPN (Expressvpn).

A few days ago, my VPN was hoarding too much memory (3 GB), so I just ran a command to disconnect the VPN, but then the computer stopped and I did a reboot. After the restart, I could no longer open Ubuntu, I received an error message that said I had to do a manual fsck. After doing that, I was able to log in to Ubuntu, but then I noticed that none of my network adapters worked: neither the integrated or wireless adapters of my laptop, nor my external antenna.

I have reviewed a couple of tutorials and questions here, to solve problems and maybe repair at least my cable connection, but none worked.

Is there any way to repair the installation of Ubuntu?

Here is additional information after executing a couple of commands:

I have changed in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf

handled = false to administered = true

And he did restart of the network administrator of the sudo service but nothing has happened.
