Indexing: Why does Google index a URL with UTM parameters when the canonical URL does not include them?

I have noticed some strange behavior in the search results, where Google includes only the "duplicate" landing page in the search results. The state of the Searchmetrics website also collects this page, but the original page is ignored.

  • There is no "nofollow"
  • Canonical is configured to point to the page on the right.
  • The results of the search show the page with UTM parameters (although Google should ignore them?)
  • Searchmetrics displays the URL with UTM parameters due to the search result
  • There is an internal link that has the same UTM parameter (points to the subdomain with the same UTM)

Still the Google indexes ? utm_source = ... Why?
