I am trying to perform an examination of the files stored in the Google Chrome cache folder on Mac OS X. These files were copies of the cache folder of another computer.
The files are all random names without extension. Is there a forensic or analytical tool that allows me to see these files?
I've thought about changing the name to all to include a jpg extension, but that would be very complicated.
There is also a cache index file in a separate folder, but I can not read it to extract the list. If there was a way to extract the list, you could write a tool to change the name of the files in the cache folder.
Are there tools for this? Any help would be appreciated.
