How do I realize USB 3.0 speeds on my laptop ports when they’re as slow as USB 2.0?

I have been waiting over an hour for approximately 20 GB to transfer from my super speed ports to a USB 3.0 Kingston stick. It’s still not done. Obviously it is not operating at expected speed. Is there a driver that needs to be installed or a setting that should be switched for this to operate as expected?

I am running a simple barely modified Debian 10 non free. I’ve had this issue with many operating systems and only Windows seems to know better, sometimes. Any help is appreciated.
