Is the PDF damaged / not opened when I compile them through Overleaf / LaTeX using XeLaTeX? Basically, when I compile a file on overleaf.com using XeLaTex, say download in the Chrome browser on my Android device running Android OS 8.1.0, specifically by downloading to the default download folder on the MicroSD card OR internal storage (both tested) the file opens well when it is in this folder. When I move the file out of this folder anywhere in the system, the file is no longer opened. I tried to compile the file (pdf) on my PC and transfer it directly, as well as put it in a unit in the cloud and download it, all with the same negative result, the file is no longer opened but maintains its file size. I just need to move the PDF to a specific folder on my MicroSD card for a specific unimportant reason (related to my work) and also to save space on internal storage. I have tried all of the above with several other pdf files and they all work well when I move them to a different folder. The reader that I am using is an application called & # 39; ReadEra & # 39 ;. I have not found any problems with this reader so far, I was having similar problems with all the & pdfs & # 39; in Adobe Acrobat users, but it seems I have no problem so far. with & # 39; ReadEra & # 39; specifically only pdf files compiled with the XeLaTex engine, please note that the file is opened even if it is saved in the Google downloads folder on the Android device, but not when it moves or copies out of this folder on my microsd card. I also just tried this with a different pdf file compiled with latex. I think that with the pdfLaTeX engine, it seems to be a specific problem with only LaTeX compiled files, maybe a security problem? The error message that says when opening:
- Name of the file title
- "Can not open the document, decoding error"
- / Name of the directory here that is usually my MicroSD card.
I've also tried the name of the file I was using and some other LaTeX compilers for PDF files and the same problem, I've also tried making a basic file name "test.pdf" without any effect, since I thought that the underscores in the file names could be causing a problem Also, I checked the security tabs in Adobe Reader in Windows 10 in a PDF that works on Android compared to the file that does not work and I do not see any difference in them.
