Reading How does a spiritual weapon interact with the illusions of creatures when it moves? it made me wonder – can a spiritual weapon to be moved through the walls?
The description of the spell says (emphasis mine):
A float is created, spectral weapon within the range that lasts the duration or until you re-cast this spell. When you cast the spell, you can make a melee spell attack on a creature within 5 feet of the weapon. In a hit, the target receives damage of force equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting skill modifier.
As an extra action on your turn, You can move the weapon up to 20 feet and repeat the attack on a creature 5 feet from it.
Spells usually require a line of effect when cast, which would prevent them from prestidigitation The weapon on the other side of a wall. Does that have any relationship with exciting The weapon through the wall? Additionally…
- Do you need to be able to see through the wall (for example, with an invocation of the wizard's Ghostly Look) to move the weapon through it?
- Could you also move the weapon if you could only see the other side of the wall (for example, see through the eyes of a relative)?
- Assuming the rules allow you to move a spiritual weapon Through the walls, can the weapon physically pass? Can it stay on the wall?
