display – disable the lock screen function on Ubuntu STUDIO 20.04.1

Many sources say to disable the lock screen function on ubuntu follows the same simple process..

In a nutshell…

  1. To disable Ubuntu lock screen, click the system menu at the top right corner and select Setting.

  2. Then select Privacy on the left menu and show the privacy options. On the privacy pane, select Screen Lock

  3. Clicking the Screen Lock will display the option to disable. Tick the button to OFF to disable as shown below.

Simple. However I am using Ubuntu Studio 20.04.1 which has a bit of a different skin on it, and there is no options as described in the regular ubuntu online resources. No ‘activities’ and no ‘privacy’ options.

In a perfect world, I’d like to log in on startup, and not have to log in my password again everytime the screen goes to sleep.

The ubuntu Studio website said this is the best place to ask questions. Hope this is just an easy n00b workaround im unaware of. Worst case I’ll probly be told i should get coding if i really want it…

thanks in advance anyone who spends any thought on this!
